Back
East, is a short film that takes place in
the wild west. It was shot in 2004 on Super 16mm with an Arri
SR3 rented from Boston Camera. Lighting and Grip was rented from
Kaye Lites. Despite being a western, this short film was shot
entirely in Walpole, Massachusetts. Production
Design, by Hillary Gurtler, was key to this production; one set
was built in a two-car garage to facilitate a more efficient production.

A
music video for the Interscope Records band, Trail of Dead. Shot
on 24p with the Canon XL2 with the mini-35 adaptor. We did full-on
concert lighting that we rented from High Output. This included
over 50 par cans and several moving lights that all went into
a Obsession II board. It was all shot at the Middle East Club
in Cambridge, MA. It has played on MTV2 and mtvU.

A
Super 16mm film shot on the Arri SR3 for the film production organization,
FPS, at Emerson College. "Craps" is the story of one
man's quest for originality; a quest which ends in the backseat
of a Canadian taxicab. All of the locations in the film were realized
in the Metro-Boston area, including a rigorous overnight schedule
to shoot 5 pages in a moving taxi. Myself and gaffer David Kane
devised a great way to light these scenes by rigging 4' Kino-Flo's
to the outside of every window. Premiering in September 2005.

A
music video for the Los Angeles-based band, Helicopter, Helicopter.
Capitalizing on the fluorescent lighting on location, I created
a gross green look to emphasize the drudgery of a dead-end 9-5
job. The band members were lit by source 4's and glossy back lights
to pull them away from their surroundings. This video was shot
on the Panasonic DVX-100A.
